Instead of selecting a specific mode like Flickr, Folders, Facebook, etc. you now have a single list of picture sets to choose from. When it comes time to change your background pictures are chosen from a random source – any un-checked photo sets are ignored. Next you choose how you want those pictures displayed – which is what the ‘Picture mode’ drop down list is all about. I’ve tried to visualise any option that caused confusion in JBS before so wherever possible there’s a thumbnail showing what you’d expect. I call the new settings dialog a ‘Unified User Interface’, because everything’s in one place and easy to find (at least that’s the idea).

Great! This is what I’ve always wanted, thumbnails of the pictures that would eventually put as background.
