I’m not being funny, but how did you know it was thick enough? So many people have died over the years by walking on frozen lakes and falling in where the ice was weak.
Well I could see it was reasonably thick, but the fact that some very large rocks had been thrown onto the ice and not penetrated it made me think it was OK. When I then saw a few people (including one of the girls who works at the Clachaig) walking their dogs right across the middle of the lake my mind was made up! Rachael didn’t give it a try though but I’m the risk taker, she’s the home maker!
