Vista/7 doesnt support animated gifs as a backround option it would be cool if you could add a way to do that.
Basicly a way i think it cuold be done is have the gifs be split into a new pic for each layer, then they would be changed through those pics.
ie animeted gif has 6 "frames"
JBS splits it into 6 pictures
the 6 pics are set as backround (1 then 2 then 3 ect)
change interval of 1/4 of a second.

Its an idea, i don't know how well it could work.

It's an interesting idea but unfortunately Windows doesn't like the desktop background being changed that frequently and in fact on a lot of systems changing every second will cause all sorts of mayhem with window repainting and so forth. I'm pretty sure Windows throttles such fast changes so they won't actually occur. But it'd be great if they expanded the built-in transition effect on Windows 7. If you're on Vista there is the Dreamscene pack you can get for the Ultimate edition that lets you set a video as the background, and in fact you can get a screensaver to run as your background too (although your icons will disappear).

If I ever work out a way to do it I'll be sure to implement it though!
