The system is running XP SP3, and background switcher 4.1. When I attempt to remote desktop to it, it takes over 5 minutes to see the desktop. If is shut down the background switcher, I can RDP in quickly. I have JBS configured to "stop switching when running over remote desktop". Any thoughts as to why JBS would make the RDP connection so slow?

That's not something I've ever come across before and I can't see why running JBS would slow down something like a remote desktop connection. When JBS is running in the background it's not actually doing anything except waiting to switch the background again so won't interfere with other running processes. As I always recommend when strange things happen on XP, you could try repairing the Microsoft .NET Framework from the 'Add / Remove Programs' section of 'Control Panel' and seeing if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. The problem had nothing to do with JBS. The problem was caused by hard drive encryption. Thanks for your product and support.

Ah yes, I remember when they turned that on in my work and my machine instantly became unusable! Anyway, you're welcome!
